Welcome to Healthier Habits Mama. This is for mamas who want to get healthier but aren’t sure where to start or how to fit those healthier habits into their everyday busy lives while they’re raising children and working from home. I will bring you weekly tips and strategies, and a few guests will come on to share their journeys while they were building healthier habits into their lives as well.
We will be talking about rest, eating well and being active all while raising your family. I want to lay some foundational pieces for you that I feel are important after talking to so many moms that wanna build in some healthier. Some of these may feel daunting to you and tough to implement, but working a little at a time with small steps will get you there.
One of those pieces is rest, not just sleep, but meditation and soul rest. Our brains and bodies need to rest and recover. You know how you feel when you haven’t had enough sleep trying to accomplish all the things. Another piece to the puzzle is eating well. As a busy mama, finding time to eat and doing it well is not always the easy.
You make sure that kids have what they need, but you eat what’s left on their plate or you don’t eat at all. You may feel like you don’t have enough time to stop and eat. We’ll talk about meal planning and some hacks that have worked for my clients as well as strategies that have worked for me. The last piece is being active.
You’re busy chasing kids, but you don’t have a routine of being active. Beyond that, finding something you enjoy can be helpful, but you can also find ways to get the family involved. All of these can actually be a form of self care. So think about how you wanna care for yourself and do it well. Think about what fills you up so you can keep doing all the things you need to do to keep you and your family moving forward.
